Wood Burning Oven Project

Mud Oven Recipe:
build a 50" foundation of "urbanite" (broken up concrete)
fill the last 8" with 4" of pumice for insulation
followed by a thin layer of mud
then 4" of sand
place fire brick on sand - yields 27" deck
build a sand mold on fire brick deck (notice 4" cardboard ring to start form)
apply first layer - oven dome - 3" thick - 30% clay - 70% sand
apply second layer - insulation - 6" thick - 15% clay - 85% perlite
apply plaster layer - 2" thick - 1 part lime - 3 parts sand - 1 part straw
